October 2025 Update
The RAd Health Trial is on track to finish late January 2026. We’re currently organising final meetings with participating practices; the last practice will wrap up their two-year trial period early next year.
We’re also more than halfway through delivering follow-up surveys to the young people who completed a survey for us about 12 months ago. Young people from the final clinic will receive this survey in February 2026.
You can read more about our latest milestones and updates in our quarterly newsletters, available here on the website.
If you’d like to stay up to date with the trial’s progress and receive future newsletters directly to your inbox, email us at rad-health@unimelb.edu.au and our team will add you to the mailing list!

Regular health checks are important to maintain young people’s mental, physical and emotional well being. GPs and nurses want to deliver these health checks, but barriers such as lack of consultation time can make this difficult.
One of the key obstacles for delivering health check- ups for young people is limited available time for appointments. The RAd health trial is investigating whether providing a Medicare rebate will help enable doctors and nurses to provide this care, resulting in better health outcomes for young people as actual and potential health issues are addressed.
